Handmade violins, violas and cellos

Erli Gurra has built them by hand since 2009, trained at the famous "Antonio Stradivari" school in Cremona, Italy, in the same tradition as Amati, Stradivari and Guarneri.

The craft

What goes into every instrument

By hand

In a quiet workshop filled with the scent of wood, the marks of tools, and years of craftsmanship, every curve is carefully shaped by hand.

Sound

Many years of experience working one-on-one with musicians, a deep knowledge of acoustics, and, most importantly, listening to the wood help Erli build great-sounding instruments.

Training

Erli trained at the International Violin Making School "Antonio Stradivari" in Cremona, learning from master makers who carry on the tradition of Amati, Stradivari, and Guarneri. He later broadened his experience at the workshop of Edgar Russ.

"It's hard to describe how I feel the first time I hear one of my own instruments, even more so when I hear it played on stages around the world." Erli Gurra

Trained in Cremona

Erli was born in Tirana in 1984, into a family who worked with musical instruments. In 2003, he moved to Cremona, Italy, to study at the "Antonio Stradivari" school, with teachers including Vanna Zambelli, Daniele Scolari and Claudio Amighetti. He then worked with master Edgar E. Russ before returning to Tirana in 2009 to open his own workshop.
